Hello everyone,
Today we are introducing you to another amazing venue you will meet at The Italian Destination Wedding Show. The aim of our show is to present the best that Italy can offer to UK couples thinking about this beautiful country for their wedding and we are so pleased with the lovely venues that will be there on the day.
When we speak about Italy, I’m sure many of you know about Tuscany as a stunning wedding or holiday destination. Today, however, is all about a part of Italy you might be less familiar with, but has much to envy with many of other regions of Italy.
Let us introduce you to Hotel Villa Luppis, a little gem in the North East of the country, so strategically positioned that you will be close to many historical and art rich cities, the breathtaking Dolomites, Venice, one of the best Italian wine regions and the stunning Italian coast line.
If you are an art, history or architecture aficionado, love hiking, climbing, nature, soaking in the sun on the beach or visiting castles and villas…this is the place for your wedding.
Anna, one of our current interns, is originally from this part of Italy and deeply misses it every day. What she misses most is the beautiful light and sceneries (which have inspired so many great painters and artists) and the atmosphere of this part of Italy, which is quite different from what the Italian stereotype can be.
Sounds interesting…? Read on!
Hotel Villa Luppis is not only a very romantic 4 star Hotel, it is a green oasis. The stunning Villa is, in fact, surrounded by a 5 hectares parkland.
Villa Luppis was acquired by the Chiozza-Luppis family at the beginning of 1800, but the history of the estate goes way back to the beginning of the XI century. The building was originally an old monastery built by the Camaldolite monks, which underwent complete rebuilding in 1500 and major restoration in 1800, when the Chiozza-Luppis family turned it into a superbly elegant country house, used by the family ancestors as a place where to carry out the public relations for their industrial and diplomatic activities.
Today, the Villa still recalls past times’ splendour and atmosphere. With an accurate renovation aiming at maintaining everything unaltered, it has been turned it into a 39-bedroom 4 star hotel with period furnishing. Every detail here tells you a story, and Villa Luppis offers hospitality typical of first-class hotels while priding itself of a warm and friendly approach.
You will be welcomed by colourful and sweet smelling orange flowers while walking under the antique “Portico” leading up to the Villa entrance. In Italy, orange flowers are a symbol of nuptials, from the tradition of brides to wear them in their hair and of the groom to present his bride-to-be with a bouquet of orange flowers on the morning of the wedding.
From the Portico your eyes will span from the park surrounding the Villa on one side, to the terrace on the other side, which brings to the Hotel main hall, decorated with seventeenth century furniture and adorned with a sixteenth century altar piece, a painting of San Gregorio Magno.
The Hotel Villa Luppis’ main restaurant, Carpe Luppis, is always ready to cater for your needs. The dishes, inspired by the tradition of the region and rigorously prepared with local produce, are aesthetically stunning. Villa Luppis’ head Chef strives to present his guests with striking and innovative flavours.
For a more relaxed and young atmosphere, why not head instead to the smaller restaurant of the Estate, Lupus in Tabula, great for any occasion.
Before, after and during your wedding reception you are welcome to Villa Luppis piano bar, were the expert and creative barman mixes, shakes and stirs new exciting cocktails and any drink you might like. And remember, one of the best wine regions in Italy, is just around the corner from Villa Luppis!
The piano bar is also the perfect setting for your romantic first dance and for showing off your moves with your friends later in the evening.
But let’s take you on a tour around the estate: surrounding the beautiful Villa is an amazing park, which includes a rose garden you can also admire from one of the suites, a tennis court (on top of the Villa’s gym facilities) and of course…a swimming pool. You can even rent a bike to have a relaxing stroll in the park!
At Villa Luppis there is the possibility to enjoy drinks and a dinner in the park, so if you are thinking about having your reception outdoors, why not have it with a backdrop of trees which are centuries old?
If you are short of ideas on how to entertain your guests during their stay, Villa Luppis offers a “cooking school program”, divided into 3 day or 4-5 days long cooking classes. If you do not feel up for the task, don’t worry, they also have a one day wine tasting class, during which you will be introduced to the world of Italian wines. And, of course, you will taste several wines on your wedding day, in combination with local regional produce, to accompany your drinks reception, during dinner, dessert and at your after party.
If you are thinking about a destination wedding extending for more than one or two days, Villa Luppis will also be a perfect base to explore the surrounding cities and regions. Whether you are an art lover, into hiking and biking or just wish to relax on the seaside, there is something for every taste and the Hotel staff will be happy to assist you with organising excursions.
We are sure you’ll love this venue as much as we love it.
We are looking forward to introducing you to the great team from Hotel Villa Luppis at The Italian Destination Wedding Show!
